Hello, I am Chris Barber
Principal Software Architect

I am an experienced engineer with over 16 years experience working in various technologies. Currently I work for Sage on their Cloud based suite of Accountants, Accounting and Payroll products as a Principal Software Architect.

My role involves designing and building enterprise grade systems to run at scale with high availability and a focus on continuous improvement and continuous delivery. Wherever possible aiming for scripted, automated & dockerised deployments. The global nature of our team, the platform and systems we are building requires effective collaboration with colleagues from around the world, ensuring that our products can be tailored to suit the specific needs of their region.

My work is primarily focused on web technologies that include;

I’m also proud to have worked on Sage’s Open Source UI Component Library - Carbon, which consists of a set of ReactJS based UI components that provide a standardised interface for both our engineers to build with and our customers to use.
